jump to expanded postThis has nothing to do with the GNOME Terminal but rather some confusion between the built in Ubuntu Tiling Assistant and the original Tiling Assistant which has recently gained GNOME 46 support. For some reason, the Ubuntu version resizes the terminal window without gaps but the newer original version can't.

Not to be confused with the WinTile extension as I initially did, which I use on a different box.
Turns out that Ubuntu has a patch using some custom function to allow this.
